Facebook buys clean energy from Ørsted — EnergyWatch

Facebook’s parent company, Meta, has made an agreement to buy clean energy from Danish Ørsted for the Mesa data center via the energy company Salt River Project.

The solar energy will come from Ørsted’s Eleven Mile Solar Center, a 300 megawatt (MW) solar farm, and an equally large battery depot currently under construction in Arizona, according to a press release from the companies.

When it’s up and running next year, it will be the largest solar-and-battery project that Salt River is behind.
