HIMSSCast: Getting to value through the right data

Clinical decision support, such as what is offered by Wolters Kluwer, handles the avalanche of information providers and physicians need to stay informed.

The information-services company has a team of over 7,000 physician editors – specialists in their domain – who comb through evidenced based research and present it in a unified way, said Yaw Fellin VP of products and solutions for Wolters Kluwer Health’s Clinical Effectiveness team.

Data, such as for drug databases and patient engagement solutions, is critical to value-based care, which at its crux is about aligning incentives, Fellin said. The technology to power the payer, provider and patient relationship is critical to improving health and outcomes, and to the transition from volume to value.

Wolters Kluwer mission is to improve health and outcomes by providing clinical decision-support resources.
