On Wednesday, Ørsted delivered an announcement that was spectacular in more ways than one. The investment decision on the UK’s Hornsea 3 offshore wind project, with its 2.9 GW and reportedly more than DKK 70 billion, is not only the energy company’s largest single investment ever in an offshore wind project – the major investment is also being made before the project’s plan A is in place.
